The Netherlands is the 6th country to have qualified for the World Cup Brazil on the 10th of September 2013. The decisive match was against Andorra. The World Cup 2014 Netherlands national team needed at least a win in order to partially ensure a ticket to the promised land. The match was won by 2 goals scored by Robin van Persie. Another involving factor was the match Romania against Turkey. Since Romania lost on that same day, nothing could keep the Netherlands from participating in the 2014 World Cup Brazil.  With 9 wins and only 1 draw, they ended up being number 1 in qualification group D.
